Fabio Monachesi is a product manager at UL Solutions, where he oversees the company’s global business strategy for electric vehicle supply equipment, distributed energy resources, and microgrids. With an extensive background in the energy industry, Monachesi has accumulated significant experience in product portfolio management, project management, business development, and strategic marketing through various roles in international corporate settings such as ABB and CESI. He has led innovative hardware and software offerings and has been instrumental in developing their go-to-market plans and extending the service business in other areas, particularly for grid code compliance.

Monachesi holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pisa and an Executive Master in Business Administration from the Business School of Polytechnic of Milan, and co-founded alumni clubs there. His educational background has provided a strong foundation for his professional endeavors in the energy sector.

As a member of the CEI Italian committee for grid code certification, Monachesi contributes to the development of industry standards. He also represents UL Solutions at the CharIN association, where he focuses on issues related to grid integration and bidirectional charging.

In addition to his professional roles, Monachesi has been involved in innovation within the energy field, having been granted two patents in the microgrid sector. He has also shared his knowledge through co-authoring four IEEE articles in addition to several presentations at conferences and trade shows worldwide. His commitment to energy transition and social sustainability extends beyond his professional work, as demonstrated by his volunteering for TEDx and his involvement with Legambiente, an Italian environmental organization.
