What will be your most important focus for the upcoming year/years and why?

Our primary focus will be on both international expansion and tech development. Expanding our global footprint will enable us to support our international client base better and in an even more hands-on approach.  This will also enable advancement in our proprietary technology particularly building on our AI capabilities. By harnessing the power of AI, we can enhance decision-making, streamline processes, and offer more predictive, agile treasury management solutions that meet the needs of modern treasury teams.

Following the rapid changes in geopolitics including war in Ukraine, the Israel/Gaza crisis and a return to office for President Trump, with more upheaval possible, how do you think the economical landscape will change as a consequence of a new world order /NWO?

We’re living in turbulent times. Conflicts like the war in Ukraine and the Israel-Gaza crisis, along with unexpected political changes, are making the global landscape more unpredictable than ever. Markets may become more volatile, supply chains could be disrupted and stricter regulations are likely. For professionals within treasury, that means focusing on stronger risk management, more flexible liquidity planning and real-time financial data. Embracing AI-native will be essential for gaining predictive insights and building more resilient strategies to navigate uncertainties in general.

We highlight and welcome Palm Technologies Limited for upcoming Nordic Cash & Treasury Management taking place in Stockholm 11-12 of March.

Please tell us little about your Business and your area of speciality within Cash & Treasury Management/Services?
At Palm, we are redefining enterprise treasury management with an AI-powered platform that brings automation, real-time forecasting, and intelligent cash flow optimization to finance teams. Traditional treasury systems rely on manual processes, outdated forecasting methods, and fragmented data—we are changing that by delivering real-time cash visibility, AI-driven automation, and proactive insights to help companies optimize liquidity, reduce risk, and make strategic financial decisions with confidence. Palm acts as a Treasury Operating System, seamlessly integrating with existing bank and TMS infrastructure to free up working capital and eliminate inefficiencies.

What will be your most important focus for the upcoming year/years and why?
Our focus is on helping enterprises unlock liquidity and improve financial efficiency through automation and AI-driven insights. Treasury teams are under pressure to do more with less—improving forecasting accuracy, reducing operational cash balances, and streamlining cash movements are now mission-critical. We’re investing in expanding our AI models, enhancing API connectivity with banks, and building automation capabilities that remove the need for treasury teams to rely on spreadsheets and manual processes. The goal is simple: help finance leaders make smarter, faster, and more strategic treasury decisions.

Following the rapid changes in geopolitics including war in Ukraine, the Israel/Gaza crisis and a return to office for President Trump, with more upheaval possible, how do you think the economical landscape will change as a consequence of a new world order /NWO?

Global uncertainty is nothing new, it just comes in different shapes and forms – such as the ones mentioned here. Supply chain disruptions, inflation, interest rate volatility, and shifting regulations will continue to put pressure on corporate finances. Enterprises will need to rethink liquidity strategies, ensuring they have better cash visibility, stronger forecasting models, and automated risk management tools to navigate unpredictable economic conditions. Treasury teams that embrace real-time insights and automation will be better positioned to manage cash flow volatility and optimize working capital in a rapidly evolving environment.

From a more narrow perspective, how will this affect the Cash & Tresaury Management field?
Treasury management is shifting from a reactive function to a proactive, strategic driver of financial stability. Rising interest rates and global instability mean that companies can no longer afford inefficiencies in cash management—excess cash sitting idle is a lost opportunity, and mismanaged cash flow can quickly become a serious risk. The demand for automated cash positioning, AI-driven forecasting, and seamless liquidity optimization will continue to grow as treasurers seek solutions that provide greater control, accuracy, and agility in decision-making. Flexibility and automation will define the next generation of treasury tools.

You are new to Nordic Cash and Treasury Management conference and you are warmly welcomed! What are you mostly looking forward to at the very conference?
We’re excited to engage with treasury leaders, finance professionals, and industry innovators who are shaping the future of cash and liquidity management. The Nordic region has always been at the forefront of financial innovation, and we’re eager to exchange ideas, learn from the challenges treasury teams are facing, and showcase how AI-powered automation can transform cash management. Most importantly, we look forward to connecting with treasury professionals who are ready to embrace smarter, more strategic treasury solutions.

Cybersecurity in Treasury; if you are where the money is, you are where the hackers want to be too

Cybersecurity in Treasury; if you are where the money is, you are where the hackers want to be too

Interview with Auke Zwaan, Cybersecurity Specialist and former Hacker

Auke will come to this year’s event to talk about cybersecurity in treasury. How can you prepare and be proactive to prevent upcoming hacker attacks? Also take part in an in-depth discussion about how we can prevent cyber-attacks and how we can build up awareness in the treasury team and corporation about cybersecurity.

In the interview, you will find out more about what to expect from his session, as well as his insights on what is important when trying to be proactive and prevent upcoming hacker attacks.”

Could you please introduce yourself and your work at Black Swan Cyber Defense?

My name is Auke Zwaan, and I’m the founder of Black Swan Cyber Defense. We offer cyber security advisory services to a wide range of organizations in multiple sectors. These include government, automotive, FMCG and finance. The approach we take here is to look at the cybersecurity posture and challenges of clients from a hacker’s point of view. After all, if you know how the attacker thinks, you can defend accordingly.

What will you speak about at Nordic Cash & Treasury Management 2025?

During Nordic Cash & Treasury Management 2025 I will be hosting an interactive session where I will invite the audience to together craft the perfect hack on their organizations. We will be looking through the different stages of cyberattacks, and then discuss how those could manifest themselves for the organizations present in the room. The goal is to spark the debate about cybersecurity and to inspire.

“The goal is to spark the debate about cybersecurity and to inspire.”

What is important when trying to prepare and be proactive to prevent upcoming hacker attacks?

I believe taking cybersecurity seriously requires commitment across all fronts and at every level of the organization. Over the last 10 years I have seen countless examples where regular employees were perfectly aware of the shortcomings and potential vulnerabilities they were working with on a daily basis. The question, then, is why those issues hadn’t already reached the cybersecurity team’s agenda. You’d be surprised how many attacks you could proactively prepare for with relatively simple measure, like scenario analysis sessions.

Which are the main obstacles when you are working with cybersecurity?

With the growing demand for cybersecurity personnel, I see some organizations taking a shift towards ’downgrading’ cybersecurity to something non-technical and political. While it is good (and actually quite important) to make cybersecurity a board-level topic, we should not forget that, in essence, it is a deeply technical matter. I see this as a significant challenge. Instead of trying to make cybersecurity something fluffy and managerial, I truly believe we should strive to teach technical skills to decision-makers. By equipping leaders with a better understanding of technical concepts, they can make more informed decisions, bridge the gap between strategy and execution, and ultimately create a more resilient organization.

Instead of trying to make cybersecurity something fluffy and managerial, I truly believe we should strive to teach technical skills to decision-makers.”

What is the most important thing you would like to share in your cybersecurity session and presentation?

I believe it’s important to realize that cybersecurity isn’t some distant, complex field — it’s something anyone can understand. Most hacking techniques aren’t that hard to grasp; it just takes a bit of curiosity and a willingness to learn.

What are you most looking forward to by attending and speaking at the event?

I’m always fascinated (in a positive way) by how quickly people can embrace their ’inner hacker’ when we collectively agree to shift our mindset from that of a regular employee to that of an attacker. It’s incredible to see how creative, curious, and even a bit ’evil’ we become when we start thinking like the adversary. I’m really looking forward to experiencing that mindset shift with the audience and exploring how it can help us better defend our organizations.
